Days of Work: Tuesday to Saturday

Hours of Work: Tuesday to Friday - 3:00pm to 11:00pm (with a 30-minute paid lunch)
Saturday - 7:00am to 3:30pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Days off: Sunday & Monday

Pay rate: $45.34 - Master Mechanic (Master Electrician license)
$43.16 - Mechanic A (Journeyman Electrician license)
Plus 4% differential - All hours



Responsibilities:

Under the leadership of the Group Leader, this position will perform all preventative maintenance electrical tasks and possibly assist with other trades if needed. Responsible for the completion of tasks and projects related to the systematic inspection, detection and correction for potential failures of equipment or facilities before they occur or before they develop into major defects.


This individual must be mature, adaptable and have the ability to work pleasantly and tactfully with fellow employees, faculty, students and staff; able to carry out all the essential duties and responsibilities of a Journeyman Electrician. This position will be expected to interact with customers, other employees, college staff and contractors in a professional manner that enhances the work of the preventative maintenance department.


The position will demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work process and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service. The candidate is expected to be able to work with our work order management system, in particular the Preventative Maintenance module.



Duties
:


  • Perform all work associated with a Journeyman Electrician.

  • Complete all assigned preventative maintenance (PM) tasks. Generate additional work orders after the initial inspection.

  • Continuously update PM task/inspection sheets to specify the needs of that particular piece of equipment.

  • Work with Management to establish and follow standards for performance and make recommendations regarding assignments and additional training if applicable.

  • Recommend measures to improve productivity and quality of work performed.

  • Review standard operating procedures and technical manuals to identify maintenance requirements.

  • Must respond to and assess emergency calls at the request of Campus Police or the duty manager off hours.

  • Coordinate the activities of contractors as necessary if needed.

  • Communicate policies to workers and insure that safety regulations are followed. Interpret specifications and job orders to workers, and assign duties.

  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Ability to work with computer technology - in particular, IPAD's for the Work Order and PM program, time management program, etc.

  • Maintain time and production records. Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.

  • Requires first response for various issues including stabilize and remedy the situation as needed to prevent property damage and safety concerns.


Requirements:

Must be willing and able to work overtime and be available for non-shift and after hour calls. Must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and (3) three years' experience as a Licensed Electrical Journeyman.


Demonstrate effective work habits, including commitment to quality work, time management and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and good record keeping skills. Experience that proves good judgement in making decisions, asking for assistance when needed, bringing forward problems, communicating with others and working around moving machinery and electricity.


Ability to speak English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret and write routine reports and correspondences. Ability to work with our work management system, in particular the Preventative Maintenance (PM) module & experience with IPAD technology.
