ZO Motors is seeking a highly motivated Homologation Expert to join us in the development and deployment of our zero-emission commercial vehicles with Li-ion battery and Hydrogen technologies for the global markets. This individual will collaborate closely with both internal and external teams to ensure our products meeting the regulations of target regions. This individual must be able to think strategically and work independently with all levels of leadership while exercising sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist. Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze different region's homologation requirements to identify the best route to bring our zero-emission commercial vehicles to those markets, including Asia, Mid-East, Latin America, and North America.
  • With the base case of being ECE compliant, identify the product changes necessary to be GCC compliant and FMVSS/CMVSS compliant.
  • Work with outside service companies and manufacturers to develop a plan to obtain homologation approval in each country of those markets.
  • Lead the plan execution with clear focus on meeting project timeline and budget.
  • Summarize progress status regularly report to company executives.
  • This position will directly report to the company CTO with extensive cross-functional coordination with engineering, marketing & sales, homologation and regulations, supply chain management, manufacturing, and outside vendors.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience as a vehicle homologation engineer to create certification documents.
  • Familiar with electric vehicles.
  • Knowledge of FMVSS, CMVSS, GCC and ECE regulations.
  • High degree of autonomy with the ability to navigate ambiguous problems, develop solutions, and drive products forward with minimal guidance.
  • Expected to travel (~25%) overseas.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or equivalent
  • Familiar with FMVSS, CMVSS, GCC and ECE regulations.
  • Experience in vehicle crashworthiness testing and simulation.
  • Experience working with outside vehicle certification agencies.
  • Experience with CAD and software version control
  • Experience creating technical drawings and tolerance stacks (GD&T)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment across functions.

Salary range is dependent on experience.
