The Marketing Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day marketing and general management duties across the retail channel of the Spices & Flavor Solutions business unit, as well as the development of short and long-term strategies. The Marketing Director will work with internal and external partners to execute such tactics as new product development, packaging changes, and consumer and shopper marketing initiatives. 

Responsibilities:


  • Deliver sales, operating margin and EBITDA goals across a portfolio of directly managed brands.

  • Manage business analytics, forecasting, and planning.

  • Lead cross functional teams for various brand initiatives, including new product launches, packaging changes, and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Lead consumer and shopper marketing programs.

  • Efficiently manage all marketing and advertising budgets to achieve brand objectives.

  • Develop long-term & short term growth strategies.

  • P&L ownership, including cost-improvement initiatives and linkage with Trade Marketing team, Supply Chain, R&D and Finance.

  • Develop and execute annual marketing plans and 3-5 year strategic plans.

Experience, Skills, Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred.

  • A Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience in consumer products, preferably in food.

  • Previous full P&L responsibility, required.

  • Expertise in IRI/Nielsen and Microsoft Office.

  • Demonstrates strong business acumen and possesses strong knowledge of industry and retail landscape.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, learning agility, problem solving, project management, analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret Nielsen/IRI data to make sound business recommendations to Management.

  • Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, resource limited environment.

  • Has proficiency and understanding of digital environment to drive sales.

  • Demonstrated drive for results and an accountability for the business.

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills - both verbal and written.

  • Must be able to multitask and re-prioritize workload frequently.

  • Must be detail oriented and extremely organized.

  • Very strong sales knowledge: Understanding and supporting the “selling” process with customer interface.

  • Excellent creative skills:  Extensive experience with the development and design of packaging, advertising and other materials.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit: Ability to work in an unstructured environment. Self-starter. Multi-tasker.

  • Strong business acumen with understanding of various interdependencies of other functions.

  • High performing team mindset.
