Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Systems Engineer in our Smyrna, TN location. The Manufacturing Systems Engineer is a key contributor to the systems improvement strategies for the Smyrna plant, specifically, in the areas of systems integration, design, and performance.
What will you do?
Responsible for the integration and delivery of digital/natively connected equipment from manufacturing at our Schneider Electric plants.
Performs a variety of engineering work which are be related to safety, process and system improvements, and develop/maintain applications.
Manipulate data to ensure communication link between legacy systems and new systems
Ensures the Gateway devices are ready to communicate both downstream and upstream.
Partners with Data-Flow teams to validate work prior to shipment
Ensure connectivity/readiness of equipment from manufacturing plant to SE Cloud
Lead in conducting digital manufacturing qualification assessments
Verifies planned configuration against digital architecture and helps influence architectural strategy as technology evolves
Test validity of QR codes on targeted products and kits, report issues, and track resolution
Implement Industry 4.0 Smart Factory solutions
What qualifications will make you successful?
Bachelor's Degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science or equivalent is required
3+ years' experience in industrial manufacturing environment including business informatics and/or computer science.
3+ years' experience with data communication devices - (networking, wireless devices, gateways, routers, cloud servers, ...)
SQL and SQL database knowledge is required
Experience with raw app development from scratch
Experience in reverse-engineering & diagnosing code in HTML and Java
Strong background in wireless communications protocols, digital device test applications, and system integration documentation
Knowledge of standard communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN, Profibus, etc)
Experience with configuring LTE cellular data end-points a plus
Proven ability to work independently in a multicultural virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, manufacturing operations and others)
