Business Unit:
Rexnord Aerospace supplies high performance spherical and cylindrical bearings, mechanical seals, gears and electrical components to commercial air transport markets. Our products are engineered to meet stringent requirements and are specified in engine systems, flight control systems, landing gear systems and airframe structures. Our global customer base includes major engine and airframe OEMs, tier suppliers and aircraft operators.
Job DescriptionPosition Summary
This position will be a key member of our Aftermarket team and will work on various projects designed to grow our aftermarket business. This highly visible position will have direct interaction with our customers to include distributors and airlines.
Responsibilities
The Aftermarket Engineer is responsible for supporting the Aftermarket Services organization in a variety of engineering tasks including, but not limited to the following:
Design and layout of new products (Solidworks)
Reverse engineering of aerospace components
Failure analysis and component improvement investigations
Preparing FAA approval packages
Development of production and repair routings
Definition and oversight materials analysis (outside support)
Direct discussions/collaborations with airlines and MRO customers

Experience and Skill Required
Bachelors of Engineering, Mechanical and/or Aerospace degrees strongly preferred
Basic understanding of key mechanical design and manufacturing principles, such as Statics, Dynamics, Mechanical Design, Thermodynamics, Materials and Heat Transfer
Ability to extract critical data and analyze data to make informed decisions.
Excellent computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.)
Team orientated with the ability to work in a team environment.
Proactive attitude and strong communications skills
Strong time management / organizational skills
Effective problem solver
Strong CAD mastery, Solidworks experience preferred
Previous aerospace engineering experience is preferred
Experience with reverse engineering and PMA (Parts Manufacturing Authority) is preferred
