The communications specialist is responsible for the development, support and production of external communications to members that inform and engage members and meet regulatory requirements. Major external communications include Welcome Kits and packets for all lines of business, member handbooks and other member materials for these welcome kits, member ID cards and ID card carrier letters.
Responsibilities:
Project Management/Production
Collaborate with internal customers to develop strategic member communications that meet both enterprise goals and regulatory requirements.
Produce status reports and keep track of schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
Perform regular quality checks to ensure materials are produced to specifications.
Work with design and production teams to obtain cost estimates and ensure projects stay on budget.
Coordinate and oversee services provided by outside vendors such as printers and fulfillment houses.
Adhere to departmental and organizational procedures.
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of departmental and organizational procedures, and adhere to them.
Editorial
Edit creative copy provided by internal customers to ensure all member communications meet corporate branding and editorial standards and meet legal and compliance requirements.
Obtain direction from internal customers to ensure all member communications are accurate, up to date and audience appropriate.
Collaborate with internal customers to identify ways to improve the relevance and impact of communications.
Proofread all print and electronic copy before it goes live.
Coordinate data collection and release, ensuring that the data matches the original request.
Ensure that all communications are consistent with regulatory and accreditation requirements (NCQA, DOH, etc.)
From beginning to end of a project, pay relentless attention to detail.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in English, Communications, Business or related health field.
Minimum 3-5 years of communications experience Required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Outlook. Required.
