Profile: The primary purpose of this role is to manage the execution of our customer connections. Acting as a customer advocate and supporting vital communication and problem solving between all stakeholders, customer, plant, quality, supply chain and finance.

Essential Functions: The Inside Sales Representative within Howmet Aerospace encompasses setting high level performance targets, risk mitigation strategies, and disciplined execution to support commitments made to the customer and the organization. This position includes strong attention to detail and tactical execution, including but not limited to:


  • Manage day-to-day activities and execution of our customer connection - follow established contract review procedures and provide accurate quoting, order entry, status, shipments, returns, credits; customer portals; being proactive when dealing with the customer and heading off issues before they arise; asking for orders; thanking the customer for their business. Meeting order entry, quoting and status response time objectives. Support Quote Team
  • Understand HSS strategic initiatives and influence customer behavior - NPS scores, gain market share, competitive pricing and market intelligence. Provide feedback to commercial and marketing teams.
  • Act as a customer advocate - present data and make recommendations as to course of action to business leaders and act within defined decision-making authority to drive "Ease Of Doing Business with HSS". Ability to reach across departmental boundaries to satisfy customer inquiries. The Inside Sales Representative is accountable to manage issues outside the traditional bounds of responsibility when required to satisfy a customer or business objective.
  • Turn Quotes into Orders (Capture Business) - substantial focus on capturing business with our customers; if not obtained, what was the competitive situation and why business wasn't captured by Howmet. Specific weekly and monthly targets must be achieved. Provide feedback to commercial and marketing teams.
  • Post Order Management - manage unadjusted items, process claims and negotiate settlements. Meet unadjusted items objectives.
  • Drive HSS strategic initiatives and influence customer behavior - NPS scores, gain market share, competitive pricing and market intelligence.
  • Ability to work in tactical administrative team environment from focused problem solving to customer relations.
  • Serve as the liaison, the glue and the driver of issue resolution between the customer, plant, quality, supply chain and finance to pull together all necessary resources to resolve any issue.
  • Provide support and anchor with Account Managers, Sales Directors and Marketing Managers to negotiate competitive pricing, quality, delivery and lead-time with customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • ITAR/EAR license is required
  • Minimum of 3 years' work experience in sales, account management, customer service or equivalent industry or market segments.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S> person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S> Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business/Finance from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years of experience working in commercial aerospace manufacturing marketing.
  • Understanding of Metals Processing, basic metallurgy and basic supply chain management to understand the areas of value to determine appropriate value pricing strategies and competitive pricing strategies and approaches.
