Job Summary




Summary: Prepares and serves beverages to guests in bar area in a friendly, courteous and timely manner.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adheres to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.


• Sets up assigned bars; requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce.


• Maintains stock, prepares, cures and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality.


• Greets guests in a courteous, friendly manner.


• Takes and/or processes orders for drinks; mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes; practices prudent portion control.


• Checks guests at the bar for proper identification.


• Detects and acts upon guest inebriation as trained. Demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws.


• Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies validity of charges, records charges and ensures vouchers are properly executed.


• Locks up and stores all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drops; secures bank.


• Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards; keeps work area clean and organized.


• Arranges bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area.


• Washes and sterilizes stemware.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Levy at Barclays Center is seeking Mixologists to join our team in the new Crown Club at Barclays Center!

Job Requirements:
• Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual.
•Deep knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, wine, beer and proper technique.
•Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service.
•Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs.
•Proficient in computer skills including POS systems.
•Experience in high-volume restaurants a plus.
•Assist guests with food, wine and cocktail selection, consider their taste and budget when guiding them through the menu
•Anticipate guest needs. Provide information to guests regarding our venues, menus and pricing
•Explain how our Crown Club menu compliments the items on our food and dessert menu
•Ensure all wines and champagnes are presented and served correctly and all pouring techniques are adhered to as specified by company standards
•Inform and explain alternative menu options to guests should their choice be unavailable
•Practice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials
•Follow and adhere to all standards set for by the Department of Health (DOH) and appropriate Federal/State Liquor Control Boards
•Perform all other duties as instructed by management.
