This entry level position is responsible for coordinating communications efforts for a cross-functional Pharmacy team, but will also spend a large amount of time collaborating with other teams to write, review, and refine processes and procedures.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Communication Coordinator will maintain departmental desk procedures for Pharmacy Services, Lead Commercial Formulary Communication and assist with the Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee administrative tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities:


  • The Communication Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to review desk procedures or policy with the SME and make updates as needed.  Their general responsibility is strictly a documentation task.  All direction is provided to them from various stakeholders. 

  • Support CMS Audits

  • The Communication Coordinator acts as a liaison for pharmacy related member and provider communication between the Pharmacy Benefits Manager and Independence. They are responsible for coordinating, supporting, and managing the following tasks:

    • Monthly IBX and PBM website reviews






    • Clinical policy website updates

    • Letter library review

      • Review of all letters mailed by PBM and coordination of all letter updates for formulary, prior authorization, and manual claims.



    • Ensure all letters are reviewed

    • Annual logo review with Corporate Communications and Medicare Marketing

    • Pharmacy Services Provider manual updates

    • Coordinate annual updates to the Program Description and Statement of Effectiveness



  • Responsible for providing administrative support to the Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee.  They would be the go-to person for meeting preparation such as putting books together, coordinating the gathering of documents, updating lists, and serving as a presenter at meetings.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

 Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years writing experience.  Pharmacy background preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organizational planning and prioritizing skills

  • Ability to effectively utilize time management
