The full-time Engineering Project Manager role is based in Kalona, Iowa and is eligible for telecommuting and flexible hours. Schedule to be set upon hire.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)
Project Management:
Serves as the team leader motivating and driving cross-functional team performance toward achieving the common goal of completing projects according to the defined objectives, on budget and on time.
Able to plan, schedule and manage multiple complicated projects simultaneously.
Responsible for working with cross-functional teams to fully define and document scope through a project plan or charter.
Manages, tracks and reports on project budgets
Provides inter/intradepartmental communication and information relating to project status.
Able to identify, communicate and mitigate issues and risks to project.
Responsible for reporting on projects. Communication of status to executive stakeholders may be required.
Facilitates communication between cross-functional teams, not limited to engineering, operations, finance, IT, quality, sourcing, as required by project scope.
Understands and follows company processes and procedures.
Manages external contractor teams if such resources are required
Engages in contract negotiation with vendors and development of applicable statements of work
Quality Assurance:
Generates quality systems and project related documentation as needed. (i.e., DHF documents, work orders, charters). Understands and follows company processes. Experience with the following processes of ISO 9001. Preferred experience with ISO 13485, FDA and MHLW requirements.
Works with departmental heads, managers, and other stakeholders to develop team goals and delegate tasks to the appropriate team member
Provides clear leadership for team allowing roles and responsibilities to be effectively and efficiently delegated
Personal Development:
Attends all relevant training. Keeps abreast of relevant developments in technology. Identifies opportunities for improvement and leads team toward implementation of proposed solutions.

Provide leadership in Lean project management, employing the full Lean toolbox to promote Lean methodology across the business and will be responsible for executing and tracking continuous improvement savings and results.
Experience with business processes including order entry, ERP systems, change management systems
Experience with manufacturing processes including packaging, receiving/warehouse, molding, machining, and assembly preferred.
May be required to travel between Kalona and Coralville locations.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Technical/Business related field, Engineering or Sciences preferred. Minimum of four to six years’ experience in technical project management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Project management qualification (PMP) and ITIL or ITSM certification preferred.
