Job Description:

Position Summary

Perform functions to promote sales of Mitutoyo products and services in the OEM Semiconductor segment in the US, primarily within Engineered Products. The Business Development Manager will also look to identify and communicate opportunities to grow sales of all Mitutoyo product groups.

Essential Job Responsibilities


  1. Act as a business driver (industry expert) for the US semiconductor industry for current and future sales growth by identifying and executing a market growth strategy.

  2. Utilize resources within the Engineered Products, Solutions, and Enhanced Services Departments to promote Mitutoyo products, solutions, and services.

  3. Pursue new projects by working with sales on identifying new opportunities, including training of the regional sales organization and distributors on market needs.

  4. Work with the Marketing Group to develop articles, application stories, webinars, develop and disseminate market and competitive analyses.

  5. Assist the marketing group in the development of creative and innovative ideas and concepts.

  6. Support sales promotions and goals.

  7. Travel throughout United States to make specialized sales calls along with other Mitutoyo America sales personnel. Visit current and poten­tial cus­tomers to promote specific products, assist with sales meetings, and product knowledge sessions.

  8. Prepare and submit required reports, including sales activities within Oracle Sales Cloud, campaign results and expense reports, in a timely manner.

  9. Participate in Mitutoyo America and distributor trade shows by assisting with planning, advance preparation, set-up, presentation and closing as required.

  10. Keep informed of Mitutoyo America products, maintain technical proficiency within scope of selected product lines, identify market trends, competitor activities, update market share information and provide input on new product research and development. Communicate new developments to management.

  11. Attend Mitutoyo meetings and participate in sales training, product knowledge training sessions and on-boarding training as required.

  12. Maintain regular contact and communications with Mitutoyo America personnel as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Work Environment:  Combination of Remote and Office Environment. 

 

Physical Demands: The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. 

Monday – Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM

Travel: Up to 75% travel is required.

Required Education and Experience: 


  • 3+ years of Semiconductor industry expertise.

  • 3+ years of experience in sales and sales management of engineered or automation products.

  • Prior experience working with a team and utilizing indirect authority to meet project milestones and customer demands
