Position Summary

The Technology Risk Manager plays an important role in the organization by performing several activities related to the company’s Information Technology Risk, Governance, Development, Operations, and Security functions. The position will primarily be responsible for managing the full life cycle of risk including IT Risk Assessments, maintaining Risk Register, Risk Prioritization, Risk Remediation, implementing IT Controls, communicating Risk to the Executive team, and improving IT Risk Management process and procedures.

Essential Functions


  • Work with IT management and stakeholders to create Risk Remediation project plans

  • Manage System Development Lifecycle Projects and Process Improvement Projects under the IT Risk Program spanning multiple IT functions including IT Governance, Managed Information Systems, Information Security, Identity and Access Management, Network Operations, System Operations, and Incident Management

  • Develop and track Key Performance Indicators associated with IT Risks that are reported to and tracked on the Enterprise Risk Register

  • Conduct Annual IT Risk Assessments and develop annual Risk Action Plans.

  • Continuously improve the Risk Management Program key regulatory frameworks.

  • Capture and maintain IT Risk Controls and Mitigants.

  • Work with IT teams to foster a risk focused mindset and understand the IT Risk Management Program.

  • Manage Monthly IT Risk Program reporting including remediation projects, status of Risk KPI’s tracked on the Enterprise Risk Register, and newly Identified IT Risks and/or Risk Assessment results.

  • Facilitate IT Risk Management Meetings with IT Management to ensure continuous communication.

  • Roll out IT Risk Management Tracking Framework, Project Templates and Management Procedures.

  • Act as primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders to support IT Risk Management.

  • Facilitate annual governance activities supporting risk, control, and threat assessments.

  • Develop IT Risk action plans and roadmaps based on annual assessments and risk-based prioritization.

  • Support IT Operations and Services Management team in building and maintaining a scalable IT risk management system.

  • Execute project planning to meet company needs; document and report all project data accurately and manage delivery of projects in a timely manner.

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and report performance of IT risk projects to include cost and schedule.

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) Risk Management processes and solutions.

  • Collaborate with Vice President of IT Operation and Services on risk matters

  • Build relationships and work closely with IT Analysts, Support Technicians, System/Network Administrator, IT Management, and internal stakeholders to drive change and process improvement

  • Function as project lead on key IT risk initiatives, as assigned

  • Plan and oversee the preparation and dissemination of project communications

  • Recommend technology risk strategies, policies, and procedures in line with industry standards

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 7 years’ experience as an IT professional

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with implementation in medium to large environments

  • Solid IT experience – understanding of application development, infrastructure, operations, and support knowledge

  • Demonstrated skills with Risk Management, Change Management and Release Management

  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and GSuite

  • Understanding of network infrastructure

  • Experience with Service Delivery, Asset Management, Systems Administration, and Information Security

  • Ability to schedule and communicate technical needs to third parties

Supervision


  • Intermittent to low supervision required, depending on experience

  • Apply sound judgment in execution of core job responsibilities

  • Travel: 5-10%

Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.



Manual Dexterity:  Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.




Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio, e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.




Environmental:  Office environment – no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

Targeted Salary Range: $94,542.00 to $128,600.00 annually
