Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Coordinating activities of external auditors
  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
  • Managing the budget process
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
  • Establishing, monitoring, and enforcing accounting policies and internal control systems
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database
  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal financial, payroll and tax requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing regulatory reports, and advising management on needed actions
  • Experience with lender covenant requirements & reporting
  • Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
  • Maintaining departmental work quality by planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Protecting company by keeping financial information and plans confidential
  • Candidate would need the skills to hire and train a solid team within the accounting and operating departments which involves putting in place policies and procedures to accomplish these objectives
  • Must have the depth to run ERP systems
