Position Title: Laboratory Technician



Location: Indianapolis, IN



Shift: Mon-Fri 9:30am-6:00pm

What You'll Do



  • Strictly following SOPs and site trainer's direction as it relates to sample handling, project processing and related documentation

  • Adhering to safety protocols to ensure a safe environment

  • Receiving and sort incoming samples or orders based on designed workflow

  • Performing gene synthesis, including PCR, cloning, E. coli transformation initiation and QC

  • Communicating with customers by e-mail in a professional manner

  • Labware Washing, biohazard waste collection and packaging of samples and related material

  • Assisting and maintain the cleanliness of work area

  • Moderate physical activity; standing and walking for considerable periods.

  • Handling of reagents and instruments commonly associated with biology and chemistry labs.

  • Occasional lifting of light to moderately heavy objects


What You Will Bring



  • B.S in Biology or related field required

  • Associates degree in Biology or related field with be considered

  • Previous lab experience preferred

  • Experience in Molecular biology techniques: PCR, gel electrophoresis, cloning and sanger sequencing result analysis

  • Knowledge of sterile techniques, preventative measures, and laboratory best practices

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems

  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure

  • Open to feedback and proactively works to address gaps/issues

  • Ability to learn and retain new concepts and tasks

  • Takes ownership of actions and results

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

  • Open to flexible work hours based on business demand
