Job Description:
Our client is a privately held petroleum refiner headquartered in Alabama.
This position is based in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee designated areas and the refinery's operations, promptly advising management and engineering of emerging concerns.
- Provide guidance and aid to technical personnel, aiding in their planning, problem-solving, and unit maintenance, among other tasks.
- Contribute to the refinery's profitability by strategizing long-term process enhancements and the introduction of new product lines.
- Undertake the identification, formulation, and implementation of process designs for refinery projects.
- Offer insights to management regarding the performance and potential of both technical and non-technical staff.
- Deliver comprehensive technical assistance to refinery departments requiring in-depth across-the-board knowledge of refinery operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical engineering.
- Eight or more years of refinery/petrochemical experience and demonstrated knowledge of refinery processes.
- Proven experience in refinery planning or process equipment design.
- Demonstrates leadership in improving income generation as well as reducing costs for the refinery.
- Self-motivated starter, able to work with very minimal supervision.
- Effective at working with other management, other engineers, hourly personnel.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to lead classes that range in size from 2 to 20.
