LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Manufacturing client near the Detroit MI area to help fill a Procurement Manager position. This position provides an opportunity to expand your skillset within a dynamic environment. As the Procurement Manager you will play critical role in overseeing the end-to-end supply chain and material management process to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
Manage and optimize the entire material supply chain process from procurement to delivery.
Collaborate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
Develop and implement supply chain strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard external suppliers to meet production demands.
Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess stock.
Conduct regular inventory audits and implement inventory optimization strategies.
Coordinate with production planning to ensure adequate material availability.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry requirements related to materials and procurement processes.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on materials management performance.
Generate regular reports and analysis to support decision-making and process improvements.
Supervise and provide leadership to materials management team members, including buyers, planners, and inventory specialists.
Support training and development initiatives for team members to enhance skills and capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field.
10 years in materials management, supply chain, or procurement roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management techniques, and procurement strategies.
Experience with ERP systems and other supply chain management software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration and development.
Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits or industry events.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
