Job Description:

Antietam Broadband is seeking a skilled NOC (Network Operations Center) Supervisor to lead and manage the daily operations of the NOC team. The successful candidate will ensure the seamless operation and high performance of our network infrastructure while providing support to Schurz Communications' other broadband locations. Other Schurz properties include Burlington Telecom, Hiawatha Broadband, Long Lines Broadband, NKTelco, and Orbitel Communications. This role involves managing, training, and mentoring NOC staff, ensuring service quality, and collaborating with various teams to enhance operational processes.  The NOC Supervisor also collaborates with other teams to resolve network issues and improve operational processes.  Schedule flexibility and willingness to work outside of normal business hours is required.

Rate: $65,000-$75,000/year


Location: Hybrid, work from home and office in Hagerstown, MD (with responsibilities extending to all other Schurz Communications broadband locations)


Shift:  Provides oversight to all shifts


Primary Responsibilities Include:



  • Lead and manage the NOC team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to NOC technicians and analysts.

  • Oversee the continuous monitoring of network infrastructure and systems for performance, availability, and potential issues.

  • Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve network incidents in a timely manner.

  • Implement and oversee routine maintenance activities and upgrades.

  • Manage and prioritize incidents, ensuring quick response and resolution.

  • Escalate critical issues to appropriate teams and management as needed.

  • Act as first alert response for incident identification to resolution

  • Gather all applicable data for analytics

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements in the NOC.

  • Coordinate with other departments and customers to address requests efficiently.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Provide support for on-call rotation and shift work as necessary.

  • Ensure NOC coverage 24/7/365 and handle urgent incidents when required.

  • Coordinate communication to customers as dictated and all other stakeholders. This may be through Social Media, Network Status Maps/Pages, Text, Calls, or other prescribed methods.


The successful Senior Network Architect has:



  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network operations or a related field.

  • 2 years in a previous supervisory or leadership experience in a NOC environment.

  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls).

  • Experience with network monitoring tools and incident management systems.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ certification, or equivalent are required.
