Job Description
The project manager for the Wagner Centers for Wellesley in the World will play a key role in helping to implement the College's external relations and global engagement strategy including managing major convenings working with campus and external partners on strategic initiatives that advance Wellesley's reputation and engagement in the world.
The newly-created Wagner Centers for Wellesley in the World will serve as a hub for Wellesley's global engagement and partnerships, as well as for faculty research and collaborations. The Centers include three of Wellesley's externally facing centers and institutes: the Wellesley Centers for Women, the largest women- and gender-focused academic research-and-action organization in the U.S.; the Albright Institute, where students learn to navigate real-world challenges by working alongside foreign policy leaders; and a nascent center focused on citizenship, leadership and democracy which will launch in spring 2024.
The Project Manager will report to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications.
About this role
In this role, you will provide consultation and project management support for major events and activations related to Wellesley in the World. These will include annual events such as the Hillary Rodham Clinton Center summit; the Wagner convening, which will hold its inaugural event in Fall 2025, and play a key role in planning and implementing events related to Wellesleys 150th anniversary which will be celebrated in the FY '25-'26 academic year.
Description
Assist with annual summits and convenings sponsored by the Wagner Centers for Wellesley in the World including help with finalizing registration lists; speaker outreach, collateral development and planning/logistics.
Review and understand current scope of the 150th celebration and assist in developing work plans (including timelines, budgets) for each area of the program
Interface with various stakeholders responsible for the major areas of the anniversary celebration including storytelling, on campus celebrations; alumnae engagement/service; commemorative merchandise; and thought leadership/events
Implement systems to monitor progress
Provide regularly scheduled status reports
Bring to attention any areas of concern in a timely manner
Requirements
A minimum of 3-4 number of years or relevant experience in project management specific to programs and/or events
Skilled project manager with a great sense of responsibility
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with various stakeholders and competing deadlines
Highly effective prioritization and organizational skills
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience working in Higher Ed and or not for profit
