Instructor of History at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas

Job Description:

The Department of History, Geography and GIS at Tarleton State University is seeking applications for two Instructor of History positions to start in the Fall 2024 semester.

 

Proposed minimum salary for this position is commensurate with experience.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to teach fifteen (15) hours of courses each fall and spring semester and to offer service to the department, college, and university as opportunities are presented or assigned. This is a 9-month position based on the Stephenville campus. Applicants are expected to have the ability to teach courses in the United States history core curriculum including United States History I and II. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a teaching methodology that places United States in a broader global context or otherwise represents current trends in Historical pedagogy.

 

Applicants must have earned a Master's Degree in History or related field from an accredited university. Doctorate/terminal degree preferred. Documented yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching and service is also preferred.
