Deli Catering Kitchen Staff

Be a part of the Zingerman's Deli Team! If you are interested in a fast paced, fun and friendly environment and would like to be one of our Catering Kitchen Staff -we'd love to have you on our team! You are the heartbeat of our Catering production team-producing food from our Catering menu, artfully assembling trays, driving one of our fleet of vehicles to make food deliveries to our guests, and working with the rest of our Catering team to deliver the Zingerman's Experience at celebrations and gatherings in Ann Arbor and all over Southeast Michigan! This full-time position pays $14-$16 per hour depending on experience with an additional $4-$5 per hour in tips. Compensation: $18-$21 total per hour based on experience with tips accounting for $4-$5 per hour of the total hourly compensation.

Full-time hourly positions available (32-40 hours/week average with some opportunities for optional overtime)
Weekend availability required. Monday availability required
The shifts are primarily in the morning starting between 6am-9am
Food preparation includes basic knife skills, cold and hot food prep, and food assembly -there's a chance to be artistic- making cheese trays, sandwich platters, and breakfast & dessert trays.
The position includes transporting food to office and residential clients using a Zingerman's vehicle.

Performance Expectations - Essential Functions:

Preps various food items such as fruits, vegetables, cheese, and meats
Attention to detail
Can prioritize tasks and move at the pace needed to deliver orders and events on time
Uses equipment such as slicers and knives
Cooks various catering menu items using ovens, grill, and stovetop
Builds and arranges food attractively for presentation to our guests
Sets up the food for our guests on location
Loads, unloads, and delivers products and materials for events
Follows Zingerman's Guide to Good Driving
Provides great service to guests and staff
Works well in a team environment
Works in a variety of environments depending on event locations


Additional Requirements

Food preparation experience preferred
Has a valid Driver's License with no license restrictions


Physical Requirements:

Comfortable bending, lifting, and being on your feet for an 8 hour kitchen shift
Can lift and carry up to 40 pounds up and down stairs
