Summary/Objective:
We are in search of a seasoned Vice President of Contracts and Commercial Management to lead our commercial management processes. This strategic role is designed for a veteran in the construction industry, equipped with deep knowledge and a proven track record. The successful candidate will secure advantageous contracts and provide expert guidance across corporate functions, skillfully handling complex technical, commercial, and legal challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract, Claims, and Dispute Resolution:
Act as the primary contact for intricate contracts, claims, disputes, and legal negotiations, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
Develop and maintain expertise as the company's lead representative in depositions, testimonies, and dispute resolutions.
Ensure all contracts adhere to legal standards and company policies, effectively mitigating risks and enhancing business opportunities.
Commercial and Risk Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives, regional leaders, and general managers.
Design and implement strategies for commercial and risk management that align with the company's objectives.
Lead the commercial and risk management functions, providing strategic direction and support.
Business and Project Management:
Promote excellence in business and commercial management across the organization.
Serve as a key resource for best practices and industry knowledge.
Team Leadership:
Build and manage a high-performing team in contracts and construction management.
Offer mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members, fostering growth and excellence.
Educational Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; Master's or MBA preferred.
At least 15 years of experience managing projects with budgets over $50 million.
Outstanding project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively communicate complex information and develop inter-departmental collaborations.
Demonstrated ability to set and meet ambitious objectives.
Comprehensive understanding of business operations and the ability to convey this to diverse audiences.
Experience in leading multiple departments.
