Budget Analyst (115)
Fresno, CA

The Budget Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our behavioral health non-profit organization. This position is responsible for overseeing budgeting processes, financial forecasting, decision support, variance analysis, and financial reporting. The Budget Analyst will collaborate closely with various departments to develop and monitor budgets, analyze financial data, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.

How will I contribute
Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with executive leadership, departmental managers, senior leadership and finance staff. Develop comprehensive budgets that align with organizational goals and strategic priorities. Ensure accuracy and completeness of budget submissions and adherence to funding requirements. Assist in preparation of budget modification requests. Conduct ongoing analysis of financial performance, including variance analysis and forecasting. Identify trends, opportunities, and risks to inform decision-making and resource allocation. Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management on financial metrics and key performance indicators. Ad Hoc reporting as requested. Lead in the preparation of grant budgets and financial reports for funding proposals. Assist in monitoring grant expenditures and compliance with grant requirements. Assist Grant Accountant with program managers to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of grant funds. Assist in preparation of budget modification requests. Support the annual audit process and address any audit findings or recommendations. Provide decision support to senior leadership by analyzing financial data, identifying key trends, and assessing the financial impact of strategic initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate business opportunities, assess risks, and develop financial projections. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to inform strategic decision-making processes. Identify opportunities to streamline budgeting and financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices and standards for financial management and reporting. Provide training and support to staff on budget-related processes and procedures. Other duties as assigned

What I bring
Bachelor Degree Finance, Accounting or related plus 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Class C Driving License Knowledge of grant management principles and experience with grant budgeting and reporting. Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Commitment to the mission and values of our organization, with a passion for promoting behavioral health and wellness Master's degree preferred. 5 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or related roles, preferably in the non-profit sector. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software preferred
