Job Description:
ECS is seeking a General Management Consultant to support the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) in executing multiple concurrent transformation initiatives. The Management Consultant will provide services to VHA clients including strategic planning, program evaluation, business process improvement, and implementation and operations support (i.e., studies, data management, performance measurement, training development, research, and policy).
The successful candidate works well in a team environment; has a high attention to detail; applies critical thinking and creativity to developing work products; has strong written and oral communication skills, and has proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio. The candidate must be able to understand project objectives, client environment, and stakeholders and support facilitation of multi-disciplinary project teams, include contributing to the development and management of project plans, meeting agendas, strategic plans, white papers, senior leader briefings, and standard project management artifacts.

The candidate will plan and organize work, sometimes across various projects, and deliver high-quality work products that meet client expectations. The candidate will maintain regular client interaction and support senior team members in proactively anticipating and preparing for client needs, and defining recommended approaches and solutions in support of high-profile initiatives.
This role requires a combination of project management, problem solving and analytical skills, collaboration and teamwork, flexibility, and client relationship building/management skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrate proficiency in relationship and time management.
Create programmatic and project-specific artifacts.
Provide verbal and written communications support for a large, Federal health program.
Effectively and professionally engage with all project stakeholders and explain complex principles in plain language.
Manage communications with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrate excellence in oral and written communications (presentations and artifacts).
Professionally represent ECS at client progress meetings and briefings.
Prepare progress reports and client briefings.
Prepare quality client deliverables.
Demonstrate collaborative teamwork.
Support day-to-day client relationships and communications.
A writing sample will be a requirement of the interview process.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree.
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Minimum of four years' full-time professional experience.
Ability to develop a basic subject-matter understanding through materials provided and individual research/collaboration with clients and project team members.
Demonstrated writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting of client-ready materials.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability to understand personal and team roles, contribute to a positive working environment, and proactively seek guidance, clarification, and feedback from clients and team members.
Ability to communicate in an organized, knowledgeable, and articulate manner in written and verbal formats.
Desired Skills:
Direct experience with program/project management, program evaluation and implementation, health systems operations, and client/stakeholder management.
Strong consulting and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment.
Strong presentation skills and ability to work with senior leadership.
