Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Production & Inventory Supervisor, in addition to performing hands on production activities, has accountability for the supervision of production and employee performance on their shift. The Production Supervisor will work on multiple priority activities along with the Production Manager that requires considerable coordination and follow-through to meet company requirements. When directed by the Production Manager; you will also be required to Supervises the personnel responsible for all activities in the Production, Receiving, Shipping and the Stockroom areas of the organization. Responsible for the accurate stocking and movement of all parts, assemblies, and finished goods from the time of their receipt from suppliers to the point of shipment to our customers. As well as schedule the production staff daily. This position is responsible for insuring system data integrity for all such inventory movement.
Job Responsibilities:
Environmental Health and Safety
In collaboration with the Manger the Supervisor will monitor, assist and work to improve all aspects of Hayward departmental HSE requirements, policies and procedures and ensure safe operations throughout the department and plant.
Ensures the use of proper safety devices, equipment (including PPE), and methods. Advises employees on proper reporting methods for near miss incidents, incidents, occupational discomfort incidents, and environmental incidents and near misses.
Assists Manager in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by federal, provincial, and local regulatory agencies, as well as Company Policies and Procedures.
Ensure that equipment and machines are maintained in safe and good working condition.
Ensures, with the supervisor, that operators maintain good housekeeping and 5S practices, and keeps work areas neat and organized to reduce the potential for accidents or incidents.
Quality / Continuous Improvement
With Manager collaboration, eliminate, prevent or put countermeasures in place for all quality issues.
Coordinate Quality control activities, initiate and implement Work Standards, specifications and characteristics of the department processes to ensure that quality is built into each of the production processes.
With Manager collaboration, initiate improvement actions to reduce department spending.
Ensures that the SOPs and Work Instructions are current against production practice.
With the assistance of the manager, ensure that each operator is qualified to perform the job duties assigned.
Leadership
Provide work direction to operators.
Communicate with all the team members on a daily basis.
Encourage cross training and maintain job rotation for employees between operations to achieve maximum operational efficiency.
Conduct new employee orientation and new employee introductions, coordinate or perform on-the-job-training.
Responsible for reporting and participating in investigations (with Human Resources and Manager guidance) of potential disciplinary actions.
Responsible for reporting and participating in all HSE investigations (with HSE and Supervisor guidance) with the focus of "no-fault", systemic, Root Causes investigations techniques.
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Oversees receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and on time receipt of materials.
Oversees shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Coaches' employees in performance of daily duties to ensure job results meet expectations.
Maintains an acceptable level of materials accuracy and maintains records for support of company metrics for Receiving, Shipping, Stock Movement.
Manages and coordinates the Cycle Count Process to ensure Stockroom data integrity.
Collaborates with Customer Service and Manufacturing management regarding shipping requirements.
Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules at the lowest possible cost.
Maintains personal accessibility for personnel issues during work hours.
Monitors attendance and punctuality of all staff
Communicates shipping and receiving objectives and safety policies to subordinates.
Modifies or writes procedures for processes in assigned area.
Coordinates janitorial services as needed.

Requirements
2 years' experience managing or supervising the Production and Inventory Control function in a Discrete Manufacturing Environment.
Bachelor's degree (desired) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and experience using and managing ERP systems as required to ensure effective product flow and system integrity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent Computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
Willing and able to workdays, nights, weekends if the job requires it.
Proven ability to define problems and make sound, fact-based decisions to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships and facilitate a teamwork environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with proven ability to work well under pressure.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
Experience with formal HSE requirements and behavioral-based safety programs.
Strong bias for action.

US Compensation Range: A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 per year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. AEM considers a wide range of factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education, licensure and certifications, key skills as well as other market and business considerations when extending an offer. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
