Job Description:

LEGAL ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES



• Teach, train, coach, and support team members; prepare materials for court filings.


• Handle complex legal documents with expertise.


• Lead pre- and post-suit associates; manage suit filings.


• Proactively handle multiple tasks and follow through.


• Prepare and file dismissals, manage orders for change of venue, address rejected filings, and coordinate process servers.


• Ensure compliance with Judge/Court protocols.


• Determine causes of rejected judgments and balance fees.


• Oversee the court call list for special cases.


• Assist in preparing and e-filing legal documents.


• Manage document collection, review, production, and e-filing.


• Effectively liaise with court personnel and clients, provide status updates.


• Organize and maintain transactional files.


• Proficient in Client Ledger Systems (CLS) and TrueFiling/MI File.


• Act as liaison between attorneys, secretaries, and external parties.


• Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents.



LEGAL ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL REQUIREMENTS



• 7+ years as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, ideally in a collection law firm.


• Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certification.


• Meticulous and highly productive.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe).


• Eager to learn new technology and software.


• Proficient in TrueFiling/MiFILE.


• Professional verbal and written skills.
