Our client is seeking a skilled Wireless Engineer to facilitate the preparation for our WiFi refresh project scheduled for the upcoming year. As a Wireless Engineer, you will play a crucial role in conducting site surveys between our hub locations to ensure optimal coverage and performance of our wireless network infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
150+ site surveys between the client's business locations, primarily focusing on hubs in DAL (Dallas) and CHI (Chicago).
survey tools and dashboards to collect essential data points necessary for network optimization.
site survey data to understand layout, dimensions, and potential obstacles that may affect wireless coverage and performance.
strategic plans for the placement of access points based on survey findings, aiming for optimal coverage and performance.
with cross-functional teams, including network engineers and IT professionals, to ensure alignment with project objectives and requirements.
technical expertise and recommendations to improve wireless network design and performance.
survey findings, recommendations, and network configurations for future reference and troubleshooting purposes.
updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to wireless networking to continuously enhance network infrastructure.
Qualifications:
degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
experience in conducting wireless site surveys and network optimization, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment.
in using survey tools and dashboards (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet) to collect and analyze data.
understanding of wireless networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., 802.11 standards, RF propagation, channel bonding).
with network design principles and best practices, including VLANs, subnets, and routing.
problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve network performance issues.
communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
