Job Title: Java API Maintenance and Enhancement Engineer

Location: Dallas TX/Durham NC

Type: Full Time (No Sub contractor)

Role description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Java API Maintenance and Enhancement Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and enhancing live systems, with extensive hands-on experience in Java 11, Spring Boot, REST API development, multithreading, and various AWS services. The candidate should also be proficient in utilizing monitoring and debugging tools such as Splunk logs, DataDog, and Terraform for infrastructure management. Additionally, the candidate should be adept at creating and managing CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment processes.

Responsibilities:
  • and enhance existing Java APIs to ensure optimal performance and reliability of live systems.
  • new features and functionalities as per business requirements using Java 11 and Spring Boot.
  • implement, and optimize RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless communication between different components of the system.
  • multithreading techniques to improve the efficiency and scalability of the applications.
  • system health and performance using tools such as Splunk logs and DataDog, and take proactive measures to address any issues.
  • with AWS services including DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, and Terraform for storage, compute, and infrastructure management.
  • with cross-functional teams to review production logs, identify root causes of issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment process and ensure continuous integration and delivery of code changes.
  • updated with the latest trends and advancements in Java development, AWS services, and DevOps practices, and incorporate them into the existing systems where applicable.

Requirements
  • degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • experience in maintaining and enhancing live systems in a production environment.
  • hands-on experience with Java 11, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
  • understanding of multithreading concepts and their practical implementation.
  • in utilizing monitoring and debugging tools such as Splunk logs and DataDog.
  • with AWS services including DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, and Terraform.
  • understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience in their creation and management.
  • problem-solving skills with the ability to review production logs and debug root causes of issues effectively.
  • communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • with Agile development methodologies.
  • with performance tuning and optimization techniques for Java applications.
