Currently, StaffBright is looking for a Technical Accountant for a client located in Southfield, MI.
The Technical Accountant is accountable for ensuring adherence to accounting standards, analyzing accounting matters, and offering guidance on accounting treatment, as well as aiding in financial statement reporting.
Primary duties will involve:
Contributing to the formulation and upkeep of corporate accounting policies and procedures
Monitoring business unit compliance with corporate accounting policies and initiatives
Examining accounting problems and transactions such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and business combinations to determine appropriate accounting methods
Assisting in the financial reporting process by preparing and reviewing financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures
Providing expertise in technical accounting and supporting major transactions like business combinations, debt refinancing, and equity-based compensation
Assisting in the creation, execution, and testing of internal controls, including supervising the internal audit function
Aiding external auditors during audits by supplying documentation, explanations, and analysis
Reviewing business unit reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
Undertaking other assigned accounting or finance responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
Proficiency in financial analysis and financial reporting
