Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Manage the end-to-end payroll process including data entry, calculation of wages, taxes, and deductions, and processing of payments. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll disbursements for all employees.
Compliance: Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and requirements. Handle payroll tax filings and reporting, including W-2s and 1099s.
Systems Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of payroll software and systems. Work closely with IT and other departments to optimize payroll processes and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of payroll specialists, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient operation of the payroll department.
Audits and Reporting: Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and integrity. Generate reports and analytics to provide insights into payroll trends and metrics.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with payroll service providers, ensuring that services meet the organization's needs and standards. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts as necessary.
Process Improvement: Continuously assess payroll processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Implement best practices to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and reduce errors.
