Packaging Support - Night Shift at Continental Mills, Inc. in Hopkinsville, Kentucky

Job Description:

Essential Functions, Skills: 

• Work dayshift from 7:00AM - 7:30PM


• Read and follow directions correctly, written and verbal, continuously.


• Stand and walk on a cement floor, continuously.


• Bend and lift, using proper lifting techniques, up to 50 lbs., occasionally.


• Climb and balance on an 18 to 20 ft. ladder, occasionally.


• Twist at waist and reach at or below shoulder height, frequently.


• Ability to support production at line standards, continuously (i.e.: bag tucking, packing/stacking, component placing).


• Ability to operate packaging equipment at standard, occasionally.


• Ability to work in high and confined spaces, occasionally.


• Ability to complete product and packaging change overs on equipment, occasionally.


• Ability to fill and transfer bulk bags up to 50 lbs. to meet standard efficiencies, occasionally.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred. 


• Accurate reading, math, and organizational skills.


• Food processing and packaging machinery experience preferred.

(1) Excellent Pay - The pay for this position is pre-determined at $17.58 per hour. Compensation for this role has been determined based on required experience, education, certification, and training.  Plus $2.25/hour shift differential for working the night shift.

(2) Pay for Skill Environment - After next level certification, the packaging operator can expect a significant corresponding pay increase, AND there are annual level increases based on market and budget factors.  Additional achieved levels pay even more and perform project work and leadership tasks.    

(3) Incentive Pay - Quarterly bonus incentives - earn up to 7% per quarter based on safety, quality, and other metrics.
