POSITION SUMMARY:
The YMCA Association Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing a specific program area within the YMCA as determined by organizational needs and goals. This leadership position involves developing, implementing, and managing programs that align with the YMCA's mission and objectives. The Director is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of their designated program area, including staff leadership and coaching, budgeting, and resource allocation. The Association Director serves as a liaison between staff, participants, volunteers, and community partners, fostering a positive and inclusive environment. Through strategic planning and effective communication, they drive growth, innovation, and impact within their program area, contributing to the overall success of the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.
Plans, schedules, communicates, and evaluates program needs and process improvement in chosen areas for the association.
Helps build and carry out strategic direction for growth and impact in specialty areas for the association; including instructing participants, staffing programs, and recruiting volunteers to assist with program implementation and quality.
Provides leadership, knowledge and training to association in area of operations including identifying current and emerging trends and ensuring that the YMCA continues to build capacity to meet the needs of our staff teams.Works in collaboration with Association Services to ensure internal controls and policy rollouts are efficient and user friendly.
In collaboration with Executives & other YMCA leaders, researches and engages in high level problem solving for operation related concerns and delivers quick response solutions that best serve members and staff.
Develops, negotiates and implements any necessary purchasing agreements or services, monitors effectiveness, and suggests alternative routes, when appropriate. Coordinates necessary insurance requirements are met for associated vendors/suppliers.
Creates, monitors and reports on budgets, as necessary for their role. Creates pro-formas, when appropriate, and ensures that YMCA programs under their purview are not only making an impact for those we serve, but helping to drive revenue to support our efforts in various communities.
Supports Executive Directors and Association Leadership with cost saving efforts and process implementation. Ensures the assigned program meets all necessary codes, regulations, and YMCA best practices in all areas of operation. Analyzes current practices and recommends changes, as necessary.
Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth. Participates in required abuse risk management training. Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adheres to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

Youth Sports:
Implement YMCA of Central Ohio program strategy that allows the YMCA to impact youth throughout Central Ohio through access to high quality recreational sports opportunities.Build curriculum in youth sports programs that helps children develop physical, emotional and social skills while learning about discipline, respect and teamwork.Launch and grow youth sports programs from inception into a sustainable program that can be duplicated across all communities the YMCA of Central Ohio serves.Effectively recruit and train volunteers, coaches, and lead staff that also embody the values of the YMCA of Central Ohio.Effectively build collaborations with amateur and professional organizations that increases the quality of youth sports programs and improves the overall experience for the participants and their families.
