Job Description:

Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday


Under general supervision, is responsible for maintaining health information in compliance with accreditation and regulation standards. Will examine medical records for accuracy, in addition to admission process, member movement, maintaining dental schedule and respond to requests for medical information. Assure procedures are followed correctly and work completed timely. Perform basic office support activities. Compile and check documents to confirm accuracy, completeness and status of information. Enter, update and retrieves data, file, records electronically.



Requirements/ Qualifications




Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or areas related to programs and functions of the employing agency OR experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.



Preferred Qualifications: Associates degree and/or certification in Health Information Management or experience in Health Information Management.


Knowledge of medical terminology, data entry systems; filing systems and how to locate records. Knowledge of health information and medical records procedures and standards; medical diagnosis coding system for reimbursement. Ability to extract, record, and report data from facility medical files. Maintain confidentiality. Communicate in person and by telephone, email and correspondence to exchange information, interaction effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds.
