Nordson Adhesive Dispensing Systems (ADS) sets the global standard in hot melt machines and dispensing, coating, and laminating systems. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for the supplier relationship management (SRM) of all significant direct (production) and indirect (expense) suppliers

  • Maintain current price data, including trends and forecasts for assigned commodities.

  • Maintain supplier delivery and quality performance in accordance with department objectives.

  • Insure dual sources of supply for all critical materials.

  • Provide support to the Engineering team, New Product Development, Engineering projects

  • Establish and monitor data and forecast prices, to ensure accurate business forecasting and costing processes.

  • Contribute ideas and information, ensuring that any activities that are undertaken are in line with, and focused on, common goals.

  • Provide management and interfaced departments with up-to-date product information.

  • Establish and meet savings and performance goals.

  • Report monthly on all routine and significant matters.

  • Liaise closely with other functions and organizations within Nordson to ensure timely and accurate exchange of information.

  • Support any ad hoc projects, as required by the business.

  • Escalate and communicate potential supply problems to the Materials Manager.

  • Ensuring compliance with, and support for, the Nordson Global Supply Chain strategy.

  • Manages to negotiate contracts and payment schedules to maximize cost effectiveness and create win-win solutions.

  • Support the communication and coordination required in New Product Development.

  • Drive Regional strategy execution and ensure cost out projects are implemented in all operations factories on time; Partner with cross functional team to launch new products

  • Ensure Procurement Spend Portfolio spend is leveraged in improved contracts / agreements at lowest possible total cost

  • Continually review supplier markets, develop alternative supply options;

  • Identify and support value-engineering opportunities, cost avoidance and e-commerce solutions

  • Provide support to achieving departmental goals and objectives.






AUTHORITY:



  • Issue and execute Purchase and change orders using approved specifications.

  • Periodically forecast standard costs and advise Management and Accounting of all variance

  • Select sources of supply most advantageous to the corporation. Take all reasonable actions to insure timely. Initiate prompt return and replacement of rejected material.

  • Identify and recommend alternate sources to Management



  • Engineering and Quality Control

  • Review, analyze and consolidate repetitively purchased materials and negotiate improved agreements with suppliers.

  • Monitor the performance of suppliers attached to the commodities or special projects

  • Advise all concerned of significant technological and economic trends and conditions.

  • Management of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and work with other disciplines necessary to achieve same.

  • Prepare monthly report covering all significant and routine accomplishments and problems for manager of Purchasing.

  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.






EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, logistics or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of five years of purchasing, planning, supply chain, manufacturing or production experience is required.



  • Experience in Lean and or 6 sigma

  • Experience in project management

  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organizational structure

  • Demonstrated results in achieving supplier cost reduction targets and accomplishing executable Master Plan Schedules

  • Experience in dealing with global suppliers

  • Commercial understanding of the supply chain and the procurement cycle

  • Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook to an intermediate level.

  • SAP system strongly preferred




This position will be an onsite role at our John's Creek office.
