Caterpillar Inc. seeks Sr Engineer-Test/Validation - Electrification at its facility located at 14009 Old Galena Rd, Chillicothe, IL 61523. Responsible for the lab testing of advanced drivetrain components and systems at the Caterpillar Tech Centre. Responsible for defining validation requirements and creating detailed test plans. Prepare component/systems for testing, perform lab tests. Troubleshoot and resolve any test stand problems. Analyze test data. Communicate results and make recommendations to internal clients. Develop lab tests to validate components and systems. Ensure lab tests are executed successfully to validate components / systems. Analyze test data for completeness and accuracy. Communicate results and make recommendations to customers, suppliers, team. members, and other business units. Validate and implement product solutions. Document findings in technical reports.

REQS: This position requires a master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and 2.5 Years of experience in Performing Lab Testing / Validation Engineering or related occupation. In the alternative, the position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and 5 Years of experience in performing Lab Testing / Validation Engineering or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have 2.5 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with: (1) Working directly with power train systems and/or components. (2) Defining validation requirements and performing Test Planning. (3) Performing troubleshooting and resolution of powertrain related teststands. (4) Working directly with Data Acquisition Software (including specifically AVL Puma, DEWESoft, and LabView) and Control Software Experience (including specifically using Canalyzer or ATI vision). (5) Coordinating multiple resources (Technicians, Skilled Trades, Instrumentation, Facility Designers, Facility Operations) to complete needed work.
