Provost

Lebanon Valley College (LVC) in Annville, PA, seeks an entrepreneurial, results-oriented leader to serve as its next Provost. A senior team member reporting to President James M. MacLaren, the Provost will lead an excellent faculty in leveraging LVC's many assets to enhance the College's educational, social, and regional impact and continue to drive outstanding student and graduate outcomes.

In Fall 2023, LVC welcomed the largest number of new undergraduate students in the College's history with 482 members of the Class of 2027 and 56 transfer students. The new group comprises over 200 student-athletes, four full-scholarship John Bowman Allwein '56 Scholars, and numerous performers who will be part of our 130-member Pride of The Valley Marching Band. Fall 2023 was the fifth time LVC welcomed the largest classes in the last seven years. Additionally, the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) has experienced tremendous growth in the past five years, with the number of graduate programs tripling between 2019 and 2024. There was a 132 percent growth in graduate headcount at census from Fall 2019 to Fall 2023. During the same period, there was a 160 percent growth in GPS enrollments.

Home to 1,641 full-time and 69 part-time undergraduate students, Lebanon Valley has 129 exceptional full-time faculty. The student-faculty ratio (FTE) is 11:1, with an average undergraduate class size of 19. LVC offers bachelor's degrees in more than 40 majors across fields in the arts, business and communications, education, health professions, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Lebanon Valley College was designated a Fulbright "Top Producing Institution" for the fourth time in February 2024.

The Provost is the chief academic officer for the College and is responsible for implementing the College's academic strategic plan and partnering with the faculty. The Provost will provide primary administrative leadership, direction, and evaluation for all the College's academic activities and faculty affairs. The opportunities and challenges for the next Provost include growing enrollment; elevating student success; supporting, mentoring, and providing professional development opportunities for faculty and academic staff across the College in all stages of their careers; maintaining and enhancing academic and co-curricular programs for the twenty-first century address our society's most pressing needs while preparing graduates for lives of purpose, passion, and civic responsibility; build community and support wellbeing; continuing to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within and across campus to ensure that all students, faculty, and staff are welcomed, valued, and respected; cultivating relationships beyond the campus and increasing financial resources in support of faculty research and programmatic growth; strengthening support for faculty scholarship, research, and community engagement ; and working closely with the President, the Advancement Office, and volunteer leaders to identify the priorities and initiatives most likely to attract individual donor support while also supporting faculty in pursuing foundation and government grants.

The successful candidate will bring a distinguished record that commands the respect of the academic community. The salary range for this position is $215,000-$235,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 403(b) retirement, health savings account, life, STD, and LTD insurance.
