Position Title: Graduate Assistant for Office of Equity & Inclusion
Supervisor's Title: Vice President for Inclusive Excellence
Session: Academic (August 12, 2024 - May 16, 2025) This is a one-year placement with an opportunity for re-application and hire.
Hourly Rate & Leadership Classification: $17.00
Average hours per week: Up to 20 hours per week
Job Purpose: The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Equity and Inclusion helps to ensure the progress of the Inclusive Excellence Plan. This will be evident through coordinating and tracking events, programming, and the facilitation of initiatives that seek to educate students, faculty and staff, which will assist in preventing acts of exclusion on campus. The Graduate Assistant(s) will work collaboratively with other office student leaders to ensure a welcoming and respectful environment on campus.

Essential Duties:
Plan and implement programming initiatives for the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI)
Coordinate special programs aimed at creating awareness, appreciation, and understanding of Lynchburg's various diverse populations
Provide diversity education programs both on and off-campus
Maintain the OEI's social media platforms and website
Work collaboratively with other campus offices such as Student Activities, Enrollment Services, Center for Global Education, First Year Programs, Residence Life, Chaplain's Office, etc. to plan and execute a diverse array of cultural programs.
Participate in OEI related activities
Track and report inclusive efforts across campus
Meet with OEI staff on a weekly basis, providing updates and reports
Hold office hours within the OEI
Complete other duties as assigned or required

Excellent organization and time-management
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Must take initiative
Must be enrolled in a University of Lynchburg Graduate Program
