Job Summary:

We are recruiting a technician to join our funded project on studying human-induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), heart organoids, and congenital heart defects. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to learn cutting-edge stem cell and organoid-related research. Our main model systems are iPSCs, heart organoids, and mice, combined with advanced single cell sequencing and imaging techniques. Our unique projects explore the fundamental mechanisms of heart growth and congenital heart defects.

Job Duties:

  • DNA extraction, PCR, and qPCR
  • Cell culture
  • Immunofluorescence
  • Live imaging experiments on advanced confocal microscopes.
  • Keeps detailed, accurate, and timely data and logbooks

Job Summary

Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.


Essential Functions

The candidate must be able to think critically and be cognizant of chemical reactions for their own safety and for the safety of other lab personnel. This individual must be able to lift, mix and carry volatile, at times hazardous materials with assistance. Must be able to recognize dangerous situations and be able to respond to them.


Physical Effort

“Normal” walking within the laboratory will be necessary, as well as minor lifting of chemicals and other laboratory items.
