Overview

EagleView, the leader in aerial imagery, is hiring a Sr. Software Engineer to join our Image Plan & Capture team. In this role you will design, develop, and maintain software applications through all phases of the software development life cycle. Your contributions will have an immediate impact on the business and the bottom line!

Our team is responsible for mission-critical software related to planning and executing the capture of high-resolution aerial imagery on a fleet of aircraft across the United States. As Sr. Software Engineer, you will use cutting-edge technologies to integrate with both commercially available and internally developed hardware components. This includes interfacing with sophisticated digital cameras, airborne systems, and navigation equipment. You will utilize your C++ expertise to develop new features and enhance existing capabilities. Our portfolio of applications spans various languages, including C#, Go, TypeScript, Java and C, so you will have the opportunity to work with these languages as well.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development, testing and deployment of multiple products
  • Code, test, and document new applications as well as changes to existing system functionality
  • Lead development of technical design and specifications as required
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate requirements and direction
  • Review code developed by other team members and provide feedback to ensure adherence to best practices
  • Collaborate with other teams within the company to ensure successful delivery of products
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest software development trends and technologies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 4 years professional experience; 7 years preferred
  • Proven programming skills with a focus on creating high-quality, maintainable code
  • Excellent debugging and critical analysis skills
  • Proven history in solving difficult problems and designing systems pragmatically
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. Self-motivated and eager to meet customer needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate complex concepts
  • Solid understanding of the Agile Development Process

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Strong expertise in modern, cross-platform C++
  • Experience with multiple programming languages and willing to learn others as needed
  • Experience providing quality-focused code reviews
  • Understanding of cameras and imaging principles

The compensation offered to the successful candidate will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s work experience, education and licenses, work-related training, key skills, the core duties of the role and its associated responsibilities, additional benefits offered, and the location where the work will be performed. All Fulltime (30+ hours) employees are eligible for PTO, Sick and Parental Leave; Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance; 401(k) Plan; Health Savings Account and Health Reimbursement Accounts; Life Insurance; Employee Assistance Program. This is a full-time, hybrid position (in our Rochester NY headquarters) with a base compensation of $118,000 - $145,000, bonus eligible.
