Merchandising Analyst at Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace in Melville, New York

Job Description:

Our Merchandising Department is actively seeking a Merchandising Analyst for its team at our Melville Headquarters. Our Analysts assist in maximizing the profit potential for our 11 gourmet supermarket stores. This individual will assist with improving cash flow and increasing profit margins by analyzing inventory risks and opportunities and implementing inventory allocation strategies. The Merchandising Analyst will assist in supply chain management.

Responsibilities
Monitor store category salesSupervise physical inventoryIdentify trends in salesMonitoring the timing and scope of seasonal changesMaintain desired inventory levels and assortmentsSchedule deliveries and oversee shipping, receiving and warehousing of merchandiseDevelop supply strategies that will minimize stockouts while maximizing inventory turns.Provide guidance about selling patterns, the timing of future purchases, and purchasing philosophiesWill work closely with category managers in our corporate headquarters, to ensure that all staff are involved in the continuity of our trends for the entire chain as well as for the flow of merchandise both in and out of gourmet stores supply chain.Other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements
Bachelors Degree or 3 years of experience in a similar role.3-5 years of previous relevant experience, preferably in a retail grocery storeStrong communication skills with proven ability as a leaderStrong analytical skills, able to utilize independent judgment and take appropriate actionsStrong computer skills with the ability to work with different types of reporting. Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite and all industry related softwareSelf motivated with the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
