Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

Entry-level developmental position involved in the application of fundamental architectural assignment. Works from designs of others receiving specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 


  • Assists others in programming, schematic design, building cost analysis, construction documents, specifications and materials, code research, construction administration and project

  • Prepares architectural renderings for client and public outreach presentations and design coordination.

  • Performs elementary design computations, makes quantity takeoffs and prepares estimates, prepares architectural plans and renderings, and inspects architectural features of structures in the

  • Encouraged to try to solve problems using judgment, and education, but is expected to ask for assistance when

  • May be asked to participate in non-design architectural activities such as construction inspection and materials testing, surveying, CADD production, and field data

  • Supervisor screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems and selects techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routing work.

  • Research design options and document findings for Senior Project

  • Uses computer to solve design problems and improve the project team's design

  • Maintains project databases Using both local and cloud based file management systems.

  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state

  • Keeps Senior Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project schedule or scope or additional services.

  • Maintain neat and organized work area that allows efficient access to project information as required by other team members.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Assist or participate in preparation of business

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • Bachelors degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited college or university

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Seeks opportunities to develop the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Ability to perform basic trigonometric calculations.

  •  General ability to solve practical problems which may occur and/or know when to seek direction from supervisor. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, SketchUp, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm: 


  • Masters degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited college or university

  • 2-4 years related experience

  • Bluebeam, BIM360 (Autodesk Build), Revit Dynamo, VRay for Revit, Rhino, Adobe InDesign, ProCore, ProjectWise, and OneDrive

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, construction and field assignments can be severe (i.e. Airport noise, inside factories, construction equipment, jack hammers, etc).

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or NY City, TranSystems is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000-$80,000 annually.
