FedEx Freight, Inc. in Harrison, AR has the following opening for an Ops Research Scientist II

Job Description: Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for

managing industrial production processes, including human work factors, quality

control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and

production coordination. Responsible for formulating and applying sophisticated

modeling and other advanced analytic methods using a computer to develop and

interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy

formulation, or other managerial functions; Concentrate on collecting,

cleansing and analyzing data, developing decision support software and

producing actionable information for decision making. Identify business

opportunities or expand ideas obtained from management in order to

conceptualize and define and model operational problems to assess feasibility

and impact. Identify performance improvement opportunities via data analysis

and develop decision support tools to ensure most cost conscience, efficient

use of company resources that supports service objectives. Develop concepts

into business plans utilizing appropriate research techniques, methodologies,

and experience and present them to senior management with recommendation for

implementation. Remote work available. Position must appear in person at work

site listed weekly.

Job Requirements: Requires a PhD or Master's in Industrial Engineering, Math,

Statistics, or related field. Experience is required (0 years with a PhD or 3

years with a Master's). Skills can be gained through work experience including

work experience pursuant to completion of graduate degree program (Research

Assistant, Graduate Assistant or similar). Must include experience in each of

the following skills: Software languages (JAVA, Python, SQL, and SAS);

optimization/simulation software (CPLEX, Gurobi); mathematical optimization and

solution methods for linear and integer programming; relational database

systems Oracle; and statistical software and reporting interfaces, data mining

tools, machine learning techniques and data visualization.
