Blue Cross of Idaho's External Reporting team is looking for a highly detailed individual for an Accountant II role. This position is responsible for applying professional judgment in interpreting data for entry into the general ledger, financial statement preparation, and the preparation and submission of reports to regulatory and government agencies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn, the ability to work independently with limited supervision, and enjoy collaborating with other team members.
This will be a hybrid role once training is complete. The selected individual will need to reside in the Treasure Valley area in order to be considered for the hybrid role.
To be considered for this opportunity, you have:
Experience: 3 years of Accounting/Finance experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience (two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)

Licenses/Certifications: CPA

In this role, we will ask you to:
Prepare and record monthly journal entries
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including submission to regulatory and government agencies
Read and understand accounting guidance and its application in a constantly evolving environment
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, insurance industry financial reports, statutory reports, and other schedules and reports, as needed
Prepare daily cash positioning and submission of requested funds (government clearance required)
Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations and analyze variances from prior periods
Assist with preparation of schedules for internal and external audit requests
Perform other duties as requested
