Job Description:

Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Window Washer II washes windows inside and outside of buildings, from floor positions, with swinging scaffolds or with the use of safety belts. Uses standard window washing materials and tools and follows prescribed safety methods. May perform assigned janitorial tasks when conditions do not permit the washing of windows. Minimum Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate is required.
  • Two (2) years' full-time work experience washing interior and exterior windows for a commercial/industrial business or government agency is required.
  • A valid "Class D" Driver's License is required.

This position is considered a safety-sensitive position. Candidates who are selected to fill safety-sensitive positions must pass a required drug test as part of the pre-employment background check process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS


  • Ability to provide efficient window washing services to meet established schedules for coverage of assigned floors.
  • Ability to cooperate with other Window Washers when working on scaffolds to avoid endangering lives of selves and pedestrians.
  • Knowledge of the use of standard window washing equipment, solutions and techniques.
  • Ability to wash window on outside of buildings of varying floor heights; knowledge of and careful use of personal safety devices.
  • Ability to perform continuous standing; reaching; stretching; balancing and stooping with physical strength and agility to erect and climb ladders and scaffolds.
  • Ability to remove snow by plowing with plow truck, shoveling, snow blowing and salt spreading.

Physical Requirements

Heavy Work
Heavy Work involves exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
