About the role:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Low Voltage/VoIP Technician with basic networking experience to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low-voltage wiring including Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A, and fiber with experience installing network equipment and working on VoIP phones. Your expertise will help ensure our clients' connectivity and network connectivity needs are met with the utmost satisfaction.
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience as a Low Voltage Technician with a networking and VoIP background.
Valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
Must be able to work on ladders.
Being part of an on-call rotating schedule every 4 weeks.
Working after hours to complete your tasks.
Responsibilities
Proficiently install, configure, and maintain low voltage systems, including structured cabling and other low voltage infrastructure components. Terminating, testing, and labeling cables.
Understand basic network concepts with the ability to learn new concepts about network equipment and VoIP.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to low voltage systems and network connectivity promptly. Identify and address connectivity problems and network interruptions.
Conduct comprehensive testing and quality checks to ensure that all low-voltage systems and networking components are functioning correctly and efficiently.
Maintain accurate records of all installations, configurations, and maintenance activities. Generate detailed reports for clients and internal use.
Communicate effectively with clients, addressing their technical concerns and providing solutions clearly and professionally.
Ensure that all installation and maintenance work comply with relevant industry standards and local codes and regulations.
Work with experienced Adamscomm technicians traveling to job sites in New England.
Work alone servicing low voltage equipment, repairing, and programming, and making recommendations to improve the client's experience with our equipment.
Qualifications
Proficiency in installing network equipment and connecting it to the network.
Proficiency in VoIP phone installation and basic concepts.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot network and low voltage issues.
Self-Motivated, confident, dedicated and driven to succeed.
Willing and desire to learn new skills.
Great at documenting.
Team player with highest level of integrity.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for low voltage cabling and networking.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must be organized and paperwork friendly.
Experience with Connectwise PSA is a plus.
