Job Description: Data Analyst - Supply Chain

Overview:

A Data Analyst specializing in Supply Chain is responsible for analyzing and interpreting supply chain data to help the organization optimize its logistics, procurement, inventory management, and overall supply chain operations. This role involves using data-driven insights to identify trends, make recommendations, and support strategic decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Data Collection and Analysis:
  • Collect, clean, and analyze data related to supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory, and distribution.
  • Develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for data analysis and reporting.
  1. Reporting and Visualization:
  • Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting on key supply chain metrics such as lead times, order accuracy, stock levels, and supplier performance.
  1. Performance Monitoring:
  • Monitor supply chain performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks.
  • Identify areas of improvement and recommend strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  1. Forecasting and Demand Planning:
  • Utilize statistical methods and tools to forecast demand and support inventory planning.
  • Analyze historical data to identify trends and patterns that can inform future demand and supply chain strategies.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Identify and analyze supply chain processes to uncover inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and track their impact on supply chain performance.
  1. Supplier Analysis and Management:
  • Analyze supplier performance and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Support supplier negotiations and relationship management through data-driven insights.
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, logistics, and finance teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Communicate complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
  1. Technology and Tools:
  • Utilize supply chain management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Stay updated on new tools, technologies, and best practices in data analysis and supply chain management.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within supply chain or logistics.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional - CSCP, Certified Analytics Professional - CAP) are a plus.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
