LHH is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join an established client of ours in the Commercial Security space. This person will be responsible for cloud focused software engineering projects and initiatives, and making sure processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives. In this capacity you will work with cross departmental teams and foster an environment where employees can meet their potential and thrive in an atmosphere of excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures product development is in accordance with quality and corporate standards so that developed products comply with regulatory requirements. Manage creation and improvement of products and skill sets of software engineering personnel to support product sales and integration.
Responsible for recruiting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees. as well as communicating job expectations, evaluating performance, and providing feedback as appropriate.
Achieves software engineering objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and safety standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining department improvements; implementing change.
Fosters an environment where engineering expertise supports the sale of products as a part of a comprehensive solution.
Acts in ethical and professional manner at all times with colleagues, customers, and vendors, representing the highest standards of management behavior.
Communicates with headquarters in Japan to obtain product development information and solve technical problems timely. Reads and writes Japanese and English documents and helps developers to understand technical details.
Supports, encourages, and provides free flow of ideas, additional education, and training to develop new products and integration of other products to enhance the overall sales of the product line.
Required Experience
Requires a Bachelors Degree
Minimum 7 years software development experience.
Minimum 2 years experience managing a team.
Excellent written, oral communication in both English and Japanese and presentation skills required.
Experience with the Cloud (AWS Preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
Experience with CI/CD
Extensive experience with project management tools, and software development tools.
Able to work within a team and independently. Proficient at maintaining an organized schedule with competing priorities, and executing plans within scheduled deadlines.
Demonstrable ability to think creatively and analytically. Must be able to develop corporate and department procedures that meet Company objectives, and quality standards.
