This position is required to work closely with our design group to develop automotive parts for N.A. production and conduct the necessary testing of these parts to prove that the product operates as designed. Also, to provide technical expertise in testing and product/material knowledge, it is required that the associate have strong written and oral communication skills. The associate will interact with customers and is expected to perform professionally and present a professional image at all times. Candidate must show initiative in gaining in-depth experience and knowledge in areas of technology related to testing of our company's products.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
DESIGN ENGINEERING/CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION/MARKET RESEARCH
Test Engineering
Works directly with the customer's designers to develop parts. Sometimes serves as a liaison between MAS-Japan's test group and the customer; Determines project requirements.
Develops testing plans and schedules.
Performs Spec and Field testing of parts and report findings back to management.
Works with Designers to develop test jig designs. Works with outside machine shops for fabrication of the test jigs. Controls the final assembly and setup of the test jigs.
In charge of sourcing and introducing new testing equipment for the facility. Also, controls the maintenance and calibration of all the test equipment.
Supports other MAS facilities by attending QA meetings at the customer's manufacturing facility to evaluate part quality and function.
Performs analysis on failed test parts to determine root cause.
Attends actual vehicle verification events.
Develops test group manuals.
Customer Communication
Communicates directly with customer R&D and MAS-Japan R&D.
Proposes value-added/product improvement ideas to customers in presentations.
Market Research
Conducts benchmarking studies of competitive components and reports the results to upper management.
Responsible for developing knowledge of market and technology trends.
Researches to find user needs.
OTHER
Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.
Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
Reports all irregular issues and problems to Management for solution.
Maintains good communication with Management, co-workers and outside contacts.

Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.

SALARY
At NMB, the pay band for this role is between $62,060.00 and $69,550.00 annually, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base pay is a part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range of the pay band process.
