Our client is an innovative, fast-growing consumer electronics and technology accessories company. They have experienced tremendous growth, with an expansive product line that can be found in Apple stores around the globe. As a result of this growth, they are expanding their team and are looking to hire an experienced Program Manager who will be a leader in helping to develop and deliver new accessories, from conception to mass production.
The Role:
Reporting to the VP, Product Development, this Program Manager will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of their products from definition and planning through production, release, and end of life - serving as the central resource for design, manufacturing, testing, quality, and marketing as products move to production and distribution.
They are looking for someone with top-notch organizational, communication and scheduling skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role will collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams and excel at managing a diverse, global, cross-functional team. He/she will ensure that the assigned product lines are recognized by resellers and end users in the industry for design, quality, innovation, features, reliability, and ease of use.
Responsibilities:
Own the full product life cycle management responsibility from concept to end of life, and prioritization in coordination with VP of Product Development.
Define program controls, processes, protocols, tracking, reporting, etc. coordinating the use of resources across multiple projects and tasks as needed.
Project manage each product from planning, design, working prototype, testing, sample build to mass production.
Establish aggressive, but realistic schedules and ensure product development timeline, cost, spec and launch volume are met.
Monitor the success of the project, using key milestones throughout each step of the product development process.
Communicate clearly and frequently, the status of the program/project execution and compliance with the target business objectives.
Provide risk and issue assessment as they arise over the course of the program's lifecycle, manage escalations necessary to execute the program/project plan and correct them.
Ensure proper consistency across all deliverables within each aspect of the program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, specialization in manufacturing and engineering preferred.
3+ years of program and project management experience required. A minimum of two years of the experience must be in a role as a successful, demonstrated program manager with involvement from initial concept through product delivery.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful completion.
Experience using project and portfolio management software, including software that could include Gantt charts, task lists and other product lifecycle management skill sets.
Strong understanding of product management and product development within the consumer electronics or tech accessories space.
Strong knowledge of procedures around budgeting and resource allocation.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of motivating teams to achieve excellence.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
