Our client, a Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical Company, has engaged GForce Life Sciences to provide a Construction Claims Manager. This position will report to an Associate Director ofFacilities Project Management or higher, the Construction Claims Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of project related claims and change orders from construction managers, architects, engineers and other vendors on the project portfolio.
Working with the Governance, Project Controls groups, Program Managers, Audit Team, Law Department, Outside Counsel and Technical Director, the Construction Claims Manager will develop a well-documented and highly organized Claims Management and Dispute Mitigation Program that allows for timely and thorough review and analysis of claims and areas of dispute or disagreement amongst the parties. Central to this role is the refinement of the Change Order/Claims tracking, review and analysis for entitlement, amounts, unit costs, hourly rates, markups, correct application of contract provisions in the Change Order/Claims process with respect to the bidding/award process and proper application of the process. Engagement, interface and coordination with Construction Managers, Trades, Design Professionals, Auditors, and other parties will be required via an efficient Engagement Plan that the Claims Manger develops. Such plan will account for and consistent tracking of Change Order Logs, Claim Forms, Dispute Letters, Settlement Agreements, Lien Waivers, Invoices, Contracts, Award Letters, and related documentation. Responsibilities include management of risk mitigation, dispute resolution, and responding to issues raised by the Internal Audit team and 3rd party Consultants.
Mandatory Requirements
Abundant experience in processing change orders
Ability to maintain organization of financial tracking log
In-depth knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to create financial reports and presentations for Senior Leadership on a regular basis.
Experience working on large-scale, multi-year construction projects, especially involving large teams and multiple simultaneous construction activities.
Extroverted personality with strong people skills and ability to manage a project team.
Must be personable, self-directed, and able to teach self new skills.
Aptitude for mobile applications (iPhone, iPad) and job function-related computer software and accounting systems required.
8 years experience in one or more of the following:
Construction financial reporting, and project accounting related to construction activities
Nice to Have
Masters Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
Recent experience working for a Pharmaceutical company
Term & Start
12 Month Contract with the possibility of becoming full time
