The Regional Director of Operations oversees all financial matters of the Geographic Business Center (GBC} and its related entities and assists GBC leadership with financial decisions and coordinates the annual budgeting process for all GBC contracts and grants. Provides administrative management and operational assistance to the staff of Mercy Housing GBC. Responsible for coordinating with MHI National and accounting teams, in conjunction with the GBC President to develop and manage the annual budget for the GBC.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and an interest in public policy and legislation in addition to a finance background.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Duties:
  • Analyze financial statements of the GBC, make recommendations, and implement improved changes to processes.
  • Work with Senior Asset Managers to forecast and address cash flow property issues.
  • Provide financial management, forecasting assistance, and contract management support for the GBC Director of Philanthropy and Resource Development department.
  • Oversee compliance with all governmental agencies for all contractual arrangements with the GBC. Prepare and analyze restricted cash projections of government contracts to identify trends and variances from forecasts for the GBC.
  • Collaborate with Real Estate Development team on budget forecasts. Provide interface with the Financial and Planning Analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of experience in financial analysis and management, some of which involved budgeting and long-range forecasting modeling and analysis.
  • 3 years as a supervisor or manager.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Affordable housing or nonprofit experience.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Create an atmosphere, with a positive attitude, to drive achievement of departmental goals in keeping with Mercy Housing philosophy and ensure maintaining compliance with all laws.
  • Willing to work on a variety of complex and changing organization, adapt to change in structure and work priorities, including working both independently and in groups, and willing to collaborate.
  • Proven excellence and understanding of basic supervisory and financial duties.
  • Excellent and effective interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication.
  • Proven skills with Excel, Word and other software platforms. Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet and computerized accounting applications.
